Welcome to the branding of Video podcast, your one-stop shop to
Speaker:take your brand to the next level.
Speaker:If you're ready to learn the best tips and tricks in the industry to dominate
Speaker:your brand and become legendary, you've come to the right place.
Speaker:So strap in, listen up, and let's do this.
Speaker:There are a few simple steps that you can follow.
Speaker:Exactly where you want in life.
Speaker:The problem is most of us don't sit down in one, define where we want
Speaker:to be, and two, actually focus on the simple and sometimes boring
Speaker:things that'll actually get us there.
Speaker:There are three steps that you really need to follow to live a legendary life, and if
Speaker:you don't get these right, you could end up just living a mediocre life at best.
Speaker:My name is Zach Mitchum, my business partner, Evan Carmichael, and I work
Speaker:with some of the best entrepreneurs, educators, and podcasters here on YouTube.
Speaker:And there are a few things that I've learned from all the clients
Speaker:that I've been able to work with.
Speaker:So lesson number one is that you need to define where you want to go.
Speaker:And I know a lot of people talk about smart goals.
Speaker:They talk about, you know, Hey, let's write this down.
Speaker:Define where you want to be.
Speaker:But the problem is, too many of us don't know exactly where we want to be, and we
Speaker:don't understand the purpose of the goals.
Speaker:Far too often, the.
Speaker:Purpose in our minds at least, is that we need to get to this destination.
Speaker:We need to end up in this place to be able to be happy, to be satisfied,
Speaker:to be able to do the things we want to do and be okay with things.
Speaker:I heard a quote recently from Steven Bartlett actually, and he
Speaker:talked about how stability causes chaos when you reach the end goal.
Speaker:You know, he had a lot of financial, personal and life goals that
Speaker:he reached and he thought he.
Speaker:Pinnacle of success.
Speaker:And what he realized was that the chaos that came from being stable,
Speaker:from actually reaching those goals far outweighed the climb and the
Speaker:journey of actually getting there.
Speaker:And what he learned was that striving and the actual journey is the whole point.
Speaker:Having something that gets you outta bed every single day, having
Speaker:a purpose, a mission in life.
Speaker:That far exceeds the want for money or things is the whole point of all of this.
Speaker:And so having a goal that is a final destination of where you
Speaker:want to be before you can be happy.
Speaker:Isn't the point.
Speaker:The point is, what if money wasn't an object?
Speaker:And for some of us it is very, very much is most of us it is.
Speaker:Take that outta the equation.
Speaker:If money wasn't a problem, what mission would you want to serve?
Speaker:If you don't know what your mission is, couple of books I
Speaker:recommend, um, built to Serve or your one word from Evan Carmichael.
Speaker:Business partner.
Speaker:They are absolutely phenomenal books.
Speaker:But go and and look at what it is that you're meant to do here.
Speaker:Why are you doing the things that you do?
Speaker:If it's just for money, you're gonna be sorely disappointed when you finally
Speaker:get the amount of money that you were after this entire time because it's not
Speaker:going to satisfy the need that you have.
Speaker:You need to have goals that fire you up, not because you're willing to grind
Speaker:and sacrifice important life moments.
Speaker:The money or for whatever that goal is, but because they make you happy
Speaker:every single day, the striving, the journey, every step that you take is
Speaker:purposeful, is meaningful, and that you, you just enjoy this journey.
Speaker:It's not about getting there, it's about the journey there.
Speaker:And that's realization that's been really hard for me to.
Speaker:Understand, and really to internalize, but when you do, it makes all
Speaker:the difference in the world.
Speaker:So step number one is to define what that goal is for you.
Speaker:Where do you actually want to end up?
Speaker:And what do you actually want to accomplish?
Speaker:Not because that thing's going to change your life, not because that thing is
Speaker:everything, but because the journey of getting there is going to build you
Speaker:into the person that you want to be.
Speaker:It's going to allow you to build a daily schedule that you
Speaker:enjoy, that gets you on fire.
Speaker:When you get outta bed, you are just ready to go on work, not because of the
Speaker:money, not because of the things that you have to do, but because of the things.
Speaker:Get to do the people that you get to impact the lives that you get
Speaker:to change and the journey that's going to change you into the
Speaker:person that you really want to be.
Speaker:Now, for some, this is going to be the hardest part.
Speaker:What is the goal that you actually want to reach?
Speaker:Oftentimes we set goals that we don't actually want to hit.
Speaker:We just think we do.
Speaker:We've been taught or conditioned that that is the thing.
Speaker:That is the dream.
Speaker:That is what we actually want when it's not.
Speaker:So figuring out that sit down, take money outta the equation.
Speaker:I know that's one of the hardest things to do, but sit down and.
Speaker:If nothing else mattered except what I get to get up and do every
Speaker:single day, would I be happy with it?
Speaker:It's a really hard exercise, but for me, you know, working with the
Speaker:entrepreneurs, the educators, the podcasters that I do, is money important?
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:But more so lately, it's become less and less important.
Speaker:As I make more money, it's become so much less important
Speaker:because I'm able to realize that.
Speaker:My mission is to help those with a message become known.
Speaker:And usually that means that's for free.
Speaker:That's what this content's for.
Speaker:That's what I get to do for fun, basically, because those
Speaker:with a message that aren't known, don't make money from it.
Speaker:They can't afford to pay me, and that's okay.
Speaker:But those who are known and have a message, I want them to become legendary.
Speaker:I want to help those who already have a message out there.
Speaker:To share it with the world, to change the world, to serve their mission, and
Speaker:to do the thing that they are giving and sacrificing everything to do.
Speaker:That's my mission.
Speaker:That's the thing that gets me fired up when I get to work with a client.
Speaker:When I get to work with someone and help them to change the world in
Speaker:the way that lights them on fire and they're passionate about, I get amped
Speaker:up and I get excited because I get to see the changes that they're making.
Speaker:I get to be a part of that.
Speaker:I get to help them with some of the hard things that YouTube
Speaker:throws at us and is limit.
Speaker:what their message could do by sharing with them how to get their
Speaker:message out there more fully.
Speaker:So I enjoy that.
Speaker:That lights me on fire, and it took me a little while to get to the point of
Speaker:realizing that my mission is the goal.
Speaker:My mission is what's most important.
Speaker:So you need to find your mission.
Speaker:You need to figure out that thing that just lights you up and makes
Speaker:you excited to live every single day.
Speaker:All right, so once you've been able to, Point number one, which is
Speaker:that goal, which can be incredibly hard or maybe you're already there.
Speaker:Point number two is to focus on the activities that are
Speaker:actually going to get you there.
Speaker:And a lot of people are yelling at you what to do there.
Speaker:A lot of people are yelling at you to be on every single social media platform
Speaker:to put out content in masses too.
Speaker:Write newsletters and do everything.
Speaker:The problem is not everyone is capable of doing that at.
Speaker:Contextually like they should.
Speaker:The problem here is too many people are being below average,
Speaker:not even mediocre everywhere, and that's not gonna get you anywhere.
Speaker:If you can focus on one platform, one channel of content, and really
Speaker:dominate, just absolutely crush it.
Speaker:The lessons that you learn from that platform are going to transfer
Speaker:over to other platforms and the audience on that one platform.
Speaker:The momentum you're able to build on that one platform is going to
Speaker:push through to other platforms, and so I'm telling you the.
Speaker:Don't go all in on every single platform splitting up, you
Speaker:know, percentages of your time.
Speaker:Unless you have a massive team.
Speaker:If you have a team member for each platform that understands
Speaker:it contextually, go for it.
Speaker:Absolutely.
Speaker:If you don't focus on the platforms that mean the most, that have the
Speaker:most leverage, if your business is based on services, if you have
Speaker:any sort of information based products, YouTube is the place.
Speaker:If you're in that sector at all, YouTube is the place to be.
Speaker:A podcast is phenomenal.
Speaker:The problem with podcast is discoverability is terrible.
Speaker:You can do reels, vertical video on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok.
Speaker:It can do okay, but the problem is if you're solving a real problem for
Speaker:me, if your information's actually valuable, I'm actually going to
Speaker:pay you for your information.
Speaker:It's you're solving a $10,000 problem for.
Speaker:10 seconds, 60 seconds, even three minutes is not enough for me to know.
Speaker:I can trust you enough to pay you hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Speaker:You need to spend a lot more time with me, or I need to spend a more
Speaker:lot more time with you to know I can trust you enough to pay you.
Speaker:And so if the first time I see you is a 30 or 60 minute YouTube video,
Speaker:I watched the entire thing, I come to know I can trust you just a little bit.
Speaker:Not enough, but a little bit.
Speaker:You get me into your email list, you gimme some sort of freebie.
Speaker:Convince me that this is something I need to implement.
Speaker:I implement it and get a little bit of change, 10% in 10 minutes.
Speaker:Then you email me over the next five to 10 days, another hour long video every
Speaker:single day, and I watch half of 'em.
Speaker:I've spent six hours of time with you, and I've had 10 interactions
Speaker:with you over a week and a half.
Speaker:If you're solving a $10,000 problem, either at that point
Speaker:you've convinced me or you haven't.
Speaker:If you have, I might pay you 2, 3, 4, 5 grand.
Speaker:To solve a 10, 20, or $30,000 problem.
Speaker:If you haven't convinced me, likely you're not going to.
Speaker:Maybe another few hours of interaction and you will.
Speaker:But if I'm not convinced after that amount of time, then
Speaker:I'm probably not going to be.
Speaker:You can't do that on TikTok.
Speaker:You can't do that on Instagram.
Speaker:You can't do that almost anywhere except for podcasts which have
Speaker:terrible, terrible discoverability.
Speaker:And the downside of, I can't see your face, I can't know who you are.
Speaker:And so if you're trying to sell me some sort of product, it, it feels weird.
Speaker:But if I'm able to watch a podcast of you video, get to know, I can trust you.
Speaker:See how you interact, see your body language, really get to know.
Speaker:And then you sell me a product, whether it's coaching, whether it's a course,
Speaker:whatever it is, and I'm interacting with you in the same way, then it
Speaker:really makes a difference in my life.
Speaker:Then I'm really able to connect and be like, this was worth it.
Speaker:Then I want to buy more from you.
Speaker:Maybe you have a medium or high ticket offer that you can then sell me.
Speaker:YouTube is the place to be if you're in that area.
Speaker:It's not for everybody.
Speaker:It really isn't.
Speaker:It, it works incredibly well for a lot of businesses and a lot more
Speaker:businesses than you would think, but it's not the end all, be all.
Speaker:Focus in on the one.
Speaker:The one place that makes the most sense for you if YouTube's
Speaker:it go all in focus there.
Speaker:Create long content.
Speaker:10 minutes isn't long enough, 20 minutes isn't long enough.
Speaker:You're starting to get there with 30 minutes, shoot for an hour, two
Speaker:hours, three hours, eight hours.
Speaker:Some of my client's best videos are eight hours long, and I'm not
Speaker:kidding you think that's way too long.
Speaker:I'm solving a $100,000 problem for you.
Speaker:I guarantee you you'll listen to eight hours of content
Speaker:before you decide to buy that.
Speaker:Just the way it is now, is that for everyone?
Speaker:No.
Speaker:What are, what are your services offering?
Speaker:If you are only solving a $100 problem, I'm not gonna
Speaker:listen to you for eight hours.
Speaker:I'm really not, and I'm not gonna pay you a hundred dollars to
Speaker:solve a hundred dollars problem.
Speaker:So you need to understand what kind of problems you solve and where.
Speaker:Makes the most sense for you to create con content, you have to be creating content.
Speaker:In today's world words, it's 2023, and you're not creating content
Speaker:you are going to fall behind.
Speaker:Long.
Speaker:Formm has the biggest upside of leverage on YouTube, of
Speaker:discoverability, of getting to know.
Speaker:I can trust you of learning lessons faster because the more content
Speaker:you create, the faster you're gonna learn some of these lessons.
Speaker:The better you're gonna get on camera, the easier it is gonna make.
Speaker:Courses and different things like that.
Speaker:There's so much here that you're gonna benefit from.
Speaker:Whether YouTube ever makes you a dollar or not, which I know many people.
Speaker:That are doing 7, 8, 9 figures from their YouTube channel, not because
Speaker:of YouTube AdSense, but because of how it's built their business.
Speaker:You can do it too, 100%.
Speaker:You might not believe it, but even with a small or relatively small audience,
Speaker:you can make a lot of money with YouTube because it is so effective at growing
Speaker:your business if you do it right.
Speaker:And that's the key here if you do it right, so if you are trying to focus on
Speaker:TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, fan base, all of what, Snapchat, wherever you're
Speaker:trying to be, if you are trying to focus on 7, 8, 9, 10 different platforms,
Speaker:you are never going to get good enough on any one platform to be able to
Speaker:build the audience that you need to.
Speaker:So wherever it is, wherever your audience is and wherever you can
Speaker:build that, no, like and trust factor, I'm very biased because I
Speaker:work with YouTube day in and day out.
Speaker:That's my suggestion for you.
Speaker:Go all.
Speaker:. And once you've mastered that, once you've built some momentum, if you have
Speaker:the space, if you have the ability, the capacity to expand, you know, even
Speaker:after doubling or tripling down on YouTube or whatever the platform is
Speaker:that you found that works, go for it.
Speaker:But until then, become exceptional, become legendary at the one thing
Speaker:that me makes the most sense for you, that has the most leverage.
Speaker:Most of you, it's gonna be YouTube.
Speaker:You just don't know it yet.
Speaker:So if you need tips on.
Speaker:Feel free to comment or find me on LinkedIn.
Speaker:I'd hop on calls with people all the time just to help out.
Speaker:Coaching wise, I only have so many slots, so if you fit more than happy
Speaker:to chat with you and, uh, have a call.
Speaker:So if you want to click the link down the description, you can find my LinkedIn.
Speaker:Reach out to me more than happy to chat with you.
Speaker:All right, so the third and final lesson here to get ahead of 99%
Speaker:of people is that you have to love every single day that you live.
Speaker:And we talked about this a little bit in number one, but if you're designing your.
Speaker:You're designing your week, you're designing your month, and you are
Speaker:hating what you're doing every day.
Speaker:You're not enjoying the process.
Speaker:It's not making you into the human that you want to be, and you're
Speaker:sacrificing in order to hit your goal.
Speaker:You have the wrong goal, my friend.
Speaker:You need to change what the goal is so that it ignites a fire within you.
Speaker:It allows you to give more than you.
Speaker:It allows you become the kind of human that you can look back on every
Speaker:single day and be proud of the effort that you put in the lives that you
Speaker:changed the things that you did.
Speaker:Some days I look back and I realize that I was not the greatest dad.
Speaker:I have three kids and sometimes I'm, I really am not the greatest dad.
Speaker:A lot of that stems.
Speaker:From not feeling like I'm serving a purpose now doing what I'm doing now,
Speaker:I am a much better dad cause I'm happy.
Speaker:I know that I've changed someone's life today.
Speaker:When I have client calls, I can see the difference I'm making and I can
Speaker:see their mission being pushed forward.
Speaker:And I know that me impacting one person, it's not just an impacting one person,
Speaker:it's impacting hundreds of thousands With nearly every single client that
Speaker:I interact with, I am changing the world and helping those who are known
Speaker:to become legendary in a small way.
Speaker:They've.
Speaker:, 99.9% of the work, and I'm helping with 0.1%, but I take satisfaction from
Speaker:knowing I'm pushing them forward and I'm able to help them level up in the
Speaker:thing that is the hardest for them.
Speaker:They have, you know, done all the years of work to get the message, to
Speaker:understand how to help people to, to help people to change their lives.
Speaker:The thing that's holding them back is getting their message out there, and
Speaker:I'm able to amplify that 2, 5, 10 times.
Speaker:And help them to really change the world.
Speaker:So I really enjoy that because it helps me to realize that even though
Speaker:who I am requires me to interact with a smaller amount of people.
Speaker:You know, I do have autism spectrum disorder and a couple of other
Speaker:things that just, it makes it hard to interact with a lot of people.
Speaker:Oddly enough, I'm.
Speaker:More than willing and able to speak in front of hundreds or thousands
Speaker:of people without a problem.
Speaker:But you get me in a group of like 30 or 40 and I get a little weird.
Speaker:But the thing is here that I see the impact when I'm working with someone
Speaker:one-on-one, I can see the change.
Speaker:I can measure it in my head and realize that there's a bigger impact than just
Speaker:the few minutes that I spent, just the hour with each client call speaking
Speaker:in front of hundreds of people's.
Speaker:Awesome.
Speaker:How much I'm changing those people's lives.
Speaker:I'm not.
Speaker:Because I don't get to work with them one-on-one and really enjoy and really
Speaker:dig into the problems that they have.
Speaker:I, I, I love being able to unravel their issues and really help
Speaker:them to do what they need to do.
Speaker:So the point of lesson number three is that you need to enjoy every single day.
Speaker:You need to do something that lights you on fire.
Speaker:Tomorrow was your last day, and sadly, for many of us it will be.
Speaker:You can die without any regrets.
Speaker:You can live and be able to do the things that are important to you every single.
Speaker:That if you're gone tomorrow, you won't regret it because
Speaker:you lived a life every day.
Speaker:That was me.
Speaker:that was accomplishing your goal, that was doing the thing that you loved the very
Speaker:most, whether you hit that goal or not.
Speaker:For some of us, we'll hit that goal and set a dozen more.
Speaker:And for others, you'll never actually obtain the goal that you've set today
Speaker:and either should be okay if you design your life in a way that's enjoyable every
Speaker:single day, if you're doing the things that 99% of people aren't doing, if you're
Speaker:focusing in on actually obtaining goals that are meaningful to you, focusing in.
Speaker:Boring things and doing them incredibly well and really
Speaker:understanding that it's about today.
Speaker:It's about enjoying your schedule and about enjoying every single
Speaker:day that you're alive, not about getting to a certain destination.
Speaker:You can do this.
Speaker:This year is your year to shine.
